Kannada films may not be at the top of the list for streaming platforms, but they are gradually gaining recognition in the OTT space. While most films typically release digitally after a theatrical run, four films from last year took a direct route to OTT platforms, including "One Cut Two Cut and Family Pack," "Man of the Match," and "Dear Vikram."

This year, Archana Jois' "#Mute" received a direct OTT release, while Jaggesh's "Raghavendra Stores" was initially expected to follow suit on Amazon Prime Video but ended up having a theatrical release. The upcoming film "Thotapuri 2" starring the renowned Navarasa Nayaka will apparently be released on Zee5 Kannada, as the first part of the film experienced poor performance at the box office.

There is a growing buzz within the industry that OTT platforms have returned to their previous practice of refraining from selecting films for direct release and instead emphasising a theatrical release, regardless of how limited it may be. Let's take a glimpse at the latest Kannada films that have been added to OTT platforms.
