Akshay Kumar is on a roll and set to captivate the audience with several films in the pipeline. He is currently gearing up for Bhooth Bangla and Sky Force. Now, he will portray the role of Lord Shiva in the much-awaited film Kannappa. The actor shared the first-look poster from Mukesh Kumar Singh directorial.

Akshay Kumar As Lord Shiva In Kannappa

Taking to his Instagram handle, Akshay surprised fans by unveiling the first-look poster from the Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa. In the image, he can be seen holding a trident in one hand and a damru in the other, standing on one leg atop a peak while depicting Lord Shiva. Sharing his excitement, Akshay wrote, "Stepping into the sacred aura of Mahadev for #Kannappa. Honoured to bring this epic tale to life. May Lord Shiva guide us on this divine journey. Om Namah Shivaya!" This is not the first time Akshay is donning a divine character; he portrayed Lord Krishna in the 2012 film OMG - Oh My God and Lord Shiva in OMG 2.

About Kannappa

Helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced under Vishnu Manchu's banners, AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the mythological drama stars Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu in pivotal roles. The much-anticipated movie is slated for release on April 25, 2025, in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. The film also features Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi. The film centers around the story of a warrior, Kannappa, one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva. In the movie, Prabhas will play the role of Nandi, Kajal Aggarwal will portray Goddess Parvati, Akshay Kumar will appear as Lord Shiva, while Vishnu Manchu will portray Kannappa.
