Devara Part 1: At the grand trailer launch in Mumbai, filmmaker Karan Johar took a moment to reflect on the significant role that Jr NTR played in the success of Brahmastra in 2022. The event, held on Tuesday, saw the presence of Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and other cast members. Johar, while talking about his strong ties with the film’s cast, shared how the superstar had a positive influence on the box office performance of Brahmastra in the southern markets.
Karan Johar recalled the time Jr NTR stepped forward to promote Brahmastra in the south, an act of camaraderie that deeply impacted the film's reach in the region. Alongside RRR director SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR helped present the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer to the south Indian audience, which Karan described as a pivotal moment.
Speaking about Jr NTR's gesture, Johar said, “I remember when he presented Brahmastra in Hyderabad. It was such a huge moment for us. He’s a massive megastar, and for him to go out of his way to support another film was truly gracious.” He credited Jr NTR with helping Brahmastra perform well in the southern regions and expressed his gratitude.

The event was not only about Devara but also about the strong relationships Karan has built with the stars over the years. He expressed his excitement over his continued bond with Jr NTR, stating that this is only the beginning of their professional journey together.
Karan also highlighted the dynamic between his children, Yash and Roohi and Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s kids, Taimur and Jeh, referring to it as a 'legacy friendship.' He further praised Janhvi Kapoor’s performance in Devara, calling her his ‘child beaming in gold’ and applauding her for keeping up with Jr NTR’s energy.
About Devara: Part 1
Devara: Part 1 features Jr NTR in dual roles, portraying both Devara and his son, Varadha. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, Bhaira, while Janhvi Kapoor takes on the role of Thangam. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film also stars Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko and Narain. The much-anticipated movie is set for a theatrical release on September 27 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
