Coldplay is all set to come to India to perform after 8-year break. The popular British rock band will be performing at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on January 18 and 19, 2025. On Sunday (September 22), the ticket sales were live on BookMyShow. However, within minutes the ticket booking platform crashed. Several fans showcased their disappointment of not getting the passes including renowned filmmaker Karan Johar. Hours after BookMyShow crashed, Karan took to Instagram stories and talked about ‘privilege’. 

Karan wrote, “Dear privilege, I love that Coldplay and the mini Kelly always keep you grounded... you can't get everything you want my darling... Lot's of love... Frugal.”

Later, the team of Coldplay announced that they would be performing in Mumbai for three days by adding another date which is January 21, 2025. They took to X and wrote, “Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for 21 January, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2PM IST today.”

Several users reacted to the announcement of the third date on X. A user wrote, “If you go by the demand, you'll have to stay in India for the entire month of January 2025.” A Twitterati wrote, “Extend the tour till March. Holi mana k jana.” A tweet read, “BookMyShow's queueing algorithm will forever remain a blackbox. I joined the queue within seconds of the this tweet but still had a long queue ahead of me when 2pm came around.” A fan said, “Y’all need to do an all India tour bcs the demand has gotten even more intense Y’all need to stay for much longer.” 

A fan commented, “@coldplay 3 shows are not enough, you should have minimum 30 shows in india.” Another fan tweeted, “Tickets sold out! Now for 22nd January at 6:00 PM?”
