Kesari 2: It’s been six years since Akshay Kumar’s historical drama movie Kesari, which became a blockbuster upon its release. The film, which brought the heroic story of 21 Sikh soldiers from the British Indian Army to the big screen, depicts their battle at Saragarhi against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in 1897. This 2019 release continues to resonate with audiences even today. Now, the film is set to return with a fresh chapter, offering even more gripping moments and heart-wrenching storytelling. On the film's 6th anniversary, Akshay shared a special post and announced that the new chapter is coming soon. He teased everyone with an update about the much-awaited sequel, Kesari 2.

Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram handle and shared a video featuring stills from the movie Kesari, along with text that read, "Details regarding the sequel will be announced tomorrow." Sharing the post, the actor wrote, "Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari. Celebrating a new chapter that begins... soon!" This announcement created excitement among fans, and they flooded the comments section. One user wrote, "Blockbuster loading." Another user commented, "Kesari chapter 2." The historical war drama film was helmed by Anurag Singh and stars Akshay Kumar as Havildar Ishar Singh, a soldier in the British Indian Army, who leads 21 Sikh soldiers in a fight against 10,000 Pashtun invaders. His role was highly praised and touched the hearts of movie buffs. Alongside Akshay, the movie also starred Parineeti Chopra.

About Kesari 2: The upcoming movie is being directed by debutant director Karan Singh Tyagi. The film stars Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday. Kesari 2 promises to bring an interesting new story while holding a strong grip on the original narrative. It is reportedly set to uncover the story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. According to reports, it is slated for release in April 2025.
