Khel Khel Mein has been receiving praise across the country for its storyline and performance. The movie features a scene revolving around Fardeen Khan’s sexuality which has been cut in the UAE. As per reports, the reason cited as ‘local restrictions’. Director Mudassar Aziz has finally reacted to it and called the move 'heartbreaking’. At the same time, he also said that he is thrilled and overwhelmed with the response to the film from other parts of the world.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Mudassar Aziz said, “I’m a filmmaker. To write all sorts of characters and raise topics of conversation is my professional and moral duty! Khel Khel Mein does that. While it’s heartbreaking to see that something so relevant, and done with so much dignity, found its way out of the UAE release, I’m thrilled at the applause that [the rest] of the world is sending my way for those very scenes.”
On the same issue, Fardeen also kept his views and said, “Through this role, I hoped to contribute to a conversation that is necessary and relevant. While edits may have been made, the intention behind the role – that of acceptance – remains unchanged, and I stand by the message’s importance.”
