Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, made her Bollywood debut in 2023 with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies. After that, she went on to star in romantic movies Loveyapa and Nadaaniyan. After exploring the rom-com genre, the actress wants to venture into the world of thrillers and horror. She expressed her desire to try darker films than the ones she has done so far.

Khushi Kapoor, who is receiving criticism for her performance in her latest release Nadaaniyan, recently opened up about her desire to do darker films like those in the thriller and horror genres. In a chat with Grazia India, she said, “I’ve always been curious to see what the process of a thriller-horror movie would look like; maybe not completely horror but something a bit darker than the movies I’ve done so far. It would be interesting to explore a slightly darker film. I like doing dramatic and emotional scenes, so I think it would be interesting to do a film that was heavier on those kinds of notes."

Talking about her roles in The Archies, Loveyapa, and Nadaaniyan, Khushi shared that she followed a different process for each character and always tried to relate to them.

Khushi Kapoor stars opposite Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan in Loveyapa. The film is based on a modern relationship and how exchanging mobile phones among a couple leads to the revelation of bitter truths about each other. This Gen Z love story was directed by Advait Chandan and was released in cinemas on February 7. After this, she appeared in another romantic comedy film, Nadaaniyan, which made its debut on OTT on March 7. She was paired opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan. The viewers were not impressed by the performances of the lead actors, and both have been receiving harsh backlash on social media. The film is helmed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment. The movie is streaming on Netflix.
