Salman Khan's 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' Records Over 15% Occupancy On Day 1, Eyes Big Jump On Eid

The Plot:

The movie revolves around Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) who lives with his three brothers in Delhi but uses violence to solve disputes. He changes his ways after falling in love with Bhagyalaxmi (Pooja Hegde). However, the life of Bhagyalaxmi and her family fall in danger because of their past enemy.

The Review:

What works for the film

'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is only Salman Khan's show and he carries the film on his shoulder with his powerful on-screen presence. He proves himself as an action star yet again and shines in action sequences. Scenes including Satish Kaushik and Aasif Sheikh will genuinely make you chuckle and they share good chemistry with Salman Khan in their small appearance. The background score of 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' stands out in the film and makes scenes more impactful.

Pooja Hegde is charming in the film and looks absolutely beautiful as well. Moreover, Venkatesh also plays his role with complete sincerity. Jagapathi Babu shines with his powerful on-screen presence and is convincing as the antagonist.

What does not work for the film

Even though Salman Khan's swag carries the film till the end, the superstar has put zero effort into his acting and has stone-cold expressions in every scene. Moreover, he has no chemistry with Pooja Hegde and there are only a few chances given to explore their love story.

There are way too many characters in 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' and the first half of the film is just a set-up for the characters' introduction. Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal and Jassie Gill have very less to offer in the film and Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar are used as props.

There are many punch lines used to make scenes funny but they fail miserably. Moreover, the songs have no context to the storyline and feel like random romantic and dance numbers popping between the film. The choreography in several songs has no effort and it sometimes feels like a workout or stretching exercise. In many scenes, the background score is loud which makes it difficult to understand the dialogue.

Acting:

Despite having a great on-screen presence throughout the film, Salman Khan has the same expression in every scene. Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh and Jagapathi Babu give their performance with sincerity and are impressive. Unfortunately, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyalm, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar do not have a lot to offer in the film and give average performances. Vijendra Singh stars as the main antagonist but only appears in the film at the end.

You might enjoy the 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' reunion in the film as Bhagyashree makes a sweet cameo. Moreover, Ram Charan also makes a cameo in a dance number with Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh.

Final Thoughts:

'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is only Salman Khan's show. If you are a die-hard fan of the superstar and enjoy his punch lines and swag, then you might have fun watching it. Otherwise, the movie is below average and there is nothing exciting about it.
