NCT's Mark Lee has channelled his inner Spider-Man in his latest solo track, '200', which serves as a prelude to his debut album set to release in 2025. The song draws inspiration from Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man, a character that Mark feels a deep connection with.

Mark's new song, '200', marks the end of his "rockstar romanticism" era and ushers in his self-proclaimed role as the South Korean Spider-Man. This transition has been embraced by his fans, who have long seen him as a potential candidate for the Spider-Man mantle if it were to be offered in South Korea.

In an interview on the Daebak Show with Eric Nam, Mark joked about his Spider-Man ambitions, saying, “If Marvel ever needs an Asian-looking Spider-Man, it has to be me.” This playful claim has now taken a more concrete form in his music.

The music video for '200', released on May 16, showcases Mark as 'Spider-Mark', an alternate reality Spider-Man. The video is creatively driven by animation and features scenes reminiscent of classic comic strips. It even parallels Tobey Maguire's original 2002 Spider-Man movie, highlighting Mark’s journey as he learns to harness his powers.

Mark shared insights into the creative process behind '200' in a lyric breakdown video on the South Korean platform 'Hup.' He revealed that the song’s storyline and lyrics were heavily influenced by the coming-of-age themes in Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies, starting with 'Homecoming' in 2017. He stated, “I thought about Tom Holland and his school… With that kind of coming-of-age type of setting…this story was born.”
