Korean actor Park Seo-joon spoke about the backlash he received from social media after an action from the screening of his upcoming film 'Concrete Utopia' went viral on the internet. The controversy began with Park Seo-joon refusing to wear a headband given to him by a fan surfaced online. Now, coming under the limelight the actor issued an apology on his official fan cafe and expressed concern that the fan must have been hurt.

According to a report in India Today, the actor explained the situation on his fan cafe and wrote, "In truth, I sweat a lot during stage greetings. Some fans like my hair down, and some like it up, so today, I decided to put my hair up because it's easier to wipe off my sweat that way. I sprayed a lot of hairspray in the morning and fixed my hair so firmly that it wouldn't move even if I tried. In that state, if I put anything in my hair, it hurt my scalp a lot."

He further wrote, "It may sound like an excuse, but I'm sure you know that I usually don't hesitate to do stuff [like wear headbands]. Many people said it was probably embarrassing for Bo Young to stand there holding the headband, but I didn't think of that item as mine. I thought it was Bo Young's gift from Bo Young's fan and that if I took it, they might be offended. I think there was a misunderstanding."

Park Seo-joon attended the event alongside Park Bo-young. In the video, the latter can be seen happily putting on the headband and offering one to her co-star. However, Park Seo-joon declined to wear it as his hair had been styled with hairspray. Park Bo-young understood the situation and nodded, however, the fan specifically made the hairband for the actor.

The incident sparked reactions on 'X' with many criticizing his action, while some supported the actor. One social media user wrote, "Y'all hating on Park Seojoon just because of a headband is so ridiculous. A grown man doesn't want to wear it so what's the big deal? It's not like he said it in a disrespectful way or some shit. GROW UP AND STOP MAKING A FUSS WITH THEIR SLIGHTEST GESTURE !!!!!"
