Actress Kritika Kamra is thrilled to step into the role of a police officer in the forthcoming mystery crime drama series Gyaarah Gyaarah. After her roles as a victim in Hush Hush and a gangster in Bambai Meri Jaan, she finds this new character particularly rewarding. She feels a profound sense of pride and responsibility when donning the uniform, which she believes brings a unique sense of purpose to her performance.
In an interview with Jagran English, Kritika Kamra expressed her fascination with Gyaarah Gyaarah, highlighting its compelling nature. She noted that the series is particularly engaging due to its narrative that spans three decades, weaving together an intricate and mysterious storyline.
She told JE, "Gyaarah Gyaarah is a police procedural crime drama infused with mystery and mysticism. The series explores a unique concept where, every time the clock strikes 11:11, two walkie talkies mysteriously connect, linking the past and present. Set in 2016, the present-day characters can communicate with individuals from 1990. This exchange of information aids the detectives in solving long-buried cases from 15 years prior. The concept of 11:11 evokes thoughts of cosmic connections or wishes, aligning more with the idea of connecting to the universe rather than time travel."
Talking about connecting 11:11 (Gyaarah Gyaarah) to universe and that in series, the actress added, "In Gyaarah Gyaarah, the concept of 11:11 is portrayed as a mystical connection rather than time travel. Every time the clock strikes 11:11, two walkie talkies connect, allowing communication between people from different timelines—one set in 1990 and the other in 2016. This extraordinary event, reminiscent of magic, bridges the past and present, enabling detectives to solve long-unsolved cases.
"It's almost like magic. It's not like, it doesn't happen to us in real life, ki hum suddenly aaj 15 saal puraane kisi insaan se baat kar sakta. Somebody from a different timeline, different world altogether. So that part of, that is the mystery, that's the mysticism sort of thing. It's like in philosophy, also, Gyaara Gyaara and the concept of time, you know, a lot of Hindu philosophy, a lot of Eastern philosophy says that time is a construct, time is not really a real thing.

The series delves into philosophical and scientific ideas about time and existence. While not literal time travel, it raises intriguing questions about the nature of time, reality, and consciousness. Eastern philosophy and quantum physics both suggest that time is a construct and not a tangible reality, echoing the show's thematic exploration."
"It says that we're all in this together. You know, if you study time and space like that. So it's a very interesting concept that can fuel many interesting discussions on a philosophy and a science level as well. But because these questions arise, kyunki humare paas aaj human beings in cheezon ke answers nahi hai. Humare paas, we don't know what consciousness really is. Where are we at this point in the universe or in the time? So these kind of fascinating questions you start to think about when you watch the show, because you wonder ki agar ye, kya ye really ho sakta, agar ye really hota, if you could actually connect with the past, what would that even mean? Or are there any signs that come that we kind of ignore? Is this even a possibility? So it's of course a piece of fiction, but we're trying to tease this idea. And we all pondered upon it when we read the script and even while shooting, ki ye actually, what is it? What is time at all?," Kritika concluded.
Reacting to playing a police office, the actress reflected, "Wearing a uniform on screen brings a profound sense of pride and responsibility. Many actors have shared similar sentiments about portraying roles like police officers or military personnel. The respect and significance associated with these characters impact how actors embody their roles.
As soon as you don the uniform, it changes your demeanor. You naturally stand taller, adopt a more commanding presence, and speak with authority. The uniform carries an inherent weight and meaning, making it impossible to approach the role lightly. This awareness of responsibility drives actors to deliver their performances with utmost sincerity, striving to honor the real-life heroes they represent."
Meanwhile, Gyaarah Gyaarah is an upcoming fantasy thriller series, adapted from the Korean drama Signal.
