Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have teamed up for the movie 'Laapataa Ladies', which is all set to hit the theatres on March 1. The movie is set in 2001 in the rural parts of India and follows the jolly mess that ensues when two young brides get lost from a train. Kiran Rao will make her return as a director after a decade and is currently busy promoting her movie. She recently shared the teaser of the movie's upcoming song 'Sajini', which is sung by Arijit Singh.

Sharing the teaser, Kiran Rao wrote, "Love in every note with Arijit Singh's #Sajni coming your way on 12th Feb. Teaser out now. #LaapataaLadies."

'Laapataa Ladies' will be presented by Jio Studios and is a comedy-drama with a quirky narrative, hilarious dialogues, and a talented cast. The movie stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in lead roles.

'Laapataa Ladies' is produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, with the script based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. The screenplay & dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, while the additional dialogues have been jotted down by Divyanidhi Sharma.

Kiran Rao was earlier in the news after she talked about the glorification of stalking women as a form of wooing a woman in several movies and also took the examples of movies like 'Baahubali' and 'Kabir Singh'. She later claimed that she never commented on Sandeep Reddy Vanga after the team of 'Animal' reacted to her criticism.

She told The Quint, "I have never commented on Mr Sandeep’s films because I have never seen them. I have often spoken on misogyny and the representation of women on screen. I have talked about it on various platforms at various times. But I have never taken the name of any film because it is not about the specific film. Why Mr Vanga has assumed that I was talking about his film you’ll have to ask him. I have never seen his film.”

On the work front, Kiran Rao last directed 'Dhobi Ghat'. Aamir Khan was last seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' along with Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. He has taken a break from acting after the release of 'Laal Singh Chadha'.
