Lal Salaam OTT Release: The Tamil film featuring Rajinikanth in an extended cameo, is expected to make its OTT debut soon as per social media buzz. The sports drama, which initially hit theatres in February 2024, has yet to be available on streaming platforms, leaving fans eagerly waiting. A Times Of India report suggested that Lal Salaam will premiere on SunNXT on September 20, 2024. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the movie's OTT release. 

Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, with Rajinikanth making a significant cameo appearance. The film, produced by Lyca Productions and featuring music by the legendary A.R. Rahman, delves into the tensions between different religious communities in a village, using cricket as a backdrop. Vishnu Vishal plays a local cricketer named Thirunavakarasu, while Vikranth portrays Rajinikanth’s on-screen son. The cast also includes notable actors such as Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah and Vivek Prasanna.

Lal Salaam received mixed reviews upon its theatrical release. Critics appreciated the film’s intentions but felt it was let down by a weak screenplay, uneven editing and an overall lack of clarity in its narrative. Despite these criticisms, the film’s unique blend of sports and social issues has garnered attention, especially due to Rajinikanth’s involvement.

After, a lot of buzz on social media, the OTT release news was debunked by the Tamil internet personality, Christopher Kanagaraj on his X account. Lal Salaam is yet to find a home on an OTT platform.
