Entertainment Desk, New Delhi: Rajinikanth’s film Jailer 2, which was recently released in theaters, is creating a stir at the box office.
While the movie features a large ensemble cast, one character, in particular, caught our attention the most: Jatin Sarna, who plays the role of the dangerous villain, Ved Kalpak.

In the story, he runs a powerful criminal syndicate, to deal with which 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) has to step into the fray once again. But do you know how Jatin was offered this role?
There is an interesting story behind this. Jatin had previously worked with Rajinikanth in 'Darbar'. He had a very small cameo role in 'Darbar', and he never expected anyone to remember it.
One day, when Jatin Sarna unexpectedly received a WhatsApp message asking him to send some recent photographs for 'Jailer 2', his first thought was whether the message was genuine.
The sender identified himself as an assistant director for the film 'Jailer' and stated that his team wanted to cast Sarna in the sequel. Sarna was skeptical, so before responding, he looked up the individual on IMDb.
Jatin said, "I thought it might just be a random message. I looked up his name and discovered that he had indeed worked on this film, so I went ahead and sent my photos."
He further added, "After that, there was no communication for about a week or ten days. Then, when he called again, he explained that it was an important role and that, in the film, the character is part of the family that stands against Rajini Sir."

Through this interaction, Sarna became involved with Jailer 2, earning a second opportunity to work alongside Rajinikanth.
Elaborating on this, Jatin said, "In 'Darbar', I barely had any dialogues or lines with Rajini sir. But this time, I got the chance to perform scenes with him and deliver dialogues."
Jatin added, "This is beyond a dream. One always hopes for such an opportunity at least once. To get another chance to work with such a massive star—I consider myself incredibly fortunate."
During the casting process, he learned something that made the opportunity even more special. Sarna discovered that director Nelson Dilipkumar had appreciated his work in ‘Sacred Games’ and had even considered him for a previous film.
Although they couldn’t work together back then, the director kept him in mind for ‘Jailer 2’. For Sarna, this served as proof that an exceptional performance can open new doors, even long after a film’s release.
