Lal Salaam OTT Release Date: On February 9 last year, Rajinikanth starrer Lal Salaam, a Tamil sports drama featuring the superstar in a special appearance, released in theaters. The movie failed to meet audience expectations and underperformed at the box office. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film centers around the characters played by Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth. Despite its theatrical setback, the film is set to make its OTT debut soon.
Where to Watch Lal Salaam on OTT
Lal Salaam failed to meet audience expectations during its theatrical run and became a commercial disaster, grossing just Rs 31.25 crore, according to Sachnik reports. The movie explored themes of religious strife and cricket but struggled to make an impact with its narrative. After almost a year of anticipation surrounding its OTT release, India Times reports that it will stream on Netflix. However, further details about its OTT release are yet to be officially announced by the makers.
About Lal Salaam
Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam delves into tensions between different religious communities in a village, set against the backdrop of cricket. Thirunavukarasu (Vishnu Vishal) and Shamsuddin (Vikranth) are brilliant local cricket players from Murrabad, a village where Hindus and Muslims live in harmony. Vikranth portrays Rajinikanth’s on-screen son. Despite their religious differences, Thiru's father (Livingston) and Shamsuddin's father, Moideen Bhai (Rajinikanth), are close friends. They are shocked to see their sons engaging in physical confrontations. Local politicians take advantage of Thiru and Shamsuddin’s rivalry during a cricket match and plan to incite communal riots in Murrabad ahead of the upcoming elections.
The film also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, and Vivek Prasanna. The story unfolds with drama, religious chaos, and much more. Cricket legend Kapil Dev also had a cameo in the film.The film’s music is composed by A. R. Rahman and cinematography done by Vishnu Rangasamy.
