Tony Bennett Dies At 96: Tony Bennett, the legendary New York pop singer and jazz singer, died at the age of 96. Bennett was known for songs like The Way You Look Tonight, Body and Soul and (I Left My Heart) In San Francisco, and more.
Publicist Sylvia Weiner confirmed Tony Bennett’s death to The Associated Press, stating that he passed away in his hometown in New York. The publicist added that there was no specific cause, but Bennett had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.

Bennett received numerous honors throughout the course of his career, including two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and 20 Grammy Awards. He founded the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, New York, and was recognized as a Kennedy Center Honoree and an NEA Jazz Master. More than 50 million recordings have been sold globally by Bennett.
The collaboration between Bennett and Lady Gaga, which started with the album Cheek to Cheek (2014) and culminated with a joint tour in 2014 and 2015 to promote the record, brought him new attention later in his career.
Bennett, whose first top-10 album was 1962's I Left My Heart in San Francisco, broke the record for the longest run of any living artist's top-10 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the publication of the duo's second album, Love for Sale (2021). He also set a new Guinness World Record by becoming the oldest person to release a new album.
