Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Leo’ is one of the most-awaited films of 2023 and will soon hit theatres on October 19. The makers of the film, dropped the trailer of ‘Leo’ last week amid mass anticipation, which later on was criticized by a section of society. In the trailer, Vijay Thalapathy can be seen using a slang word which was not muted by the makers. Now, after the release of the trailer, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has addressed the issue and commented on the same.

The trailer of the film received millions of views in multiple languages. Now, ahead of the release of the film, Lokesh Kanagaraj opened up about the controversy and said that it wasn’t his intention to use a swear word. According to a report in India Today, he said it was necessary to convey the emotions of the character in that particular scene, thus the makers decided to add the ‘cuss’ word in the trailer.

He also revealed that the actor was hesitant initially but after uttering the word, he got convinced and accepted the fact that it is required in the scene. However, Lokesh Kanagaraj took complete blame for the controversy.

Talking about the film, ‘Leo’ is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is co-written by Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy. The film also features Trishan Krishan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Sarja in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Priya Anand and several others will be seen in supporting roles.

‘Leo’ is produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and SS Llit Kumar. The musical score is given by Anirudh Ravichander, whereas the cinematography is given by Manoj Paramahamsa.
