Loki Season 3 Update: Marvel Cinematic Universe's mini-series 'Loki' is back with its second season and has become one of the most loved and critically acclaimed shows by Marvel Studios. The series revolves around the God of Mischief, Loki, as he gets kidnapped by the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) and showcases the event of 'Avengers: Endgame'. The season finale of 'Loki Season 2' is finally here and it has left fans with a bittersweet feeling. Loki went through a major character development in the series and fans are eager to know if there will be 'Loki Season 3' or not.
Will there be Loki Season 3?
In an interview with Deadline, series producer Kevin Wright talked about if there is any possibility of 'Loki Season 3'. He said, "We take it season by season, and there are certain things that Tom and I and other casts have talked about of where we see this going, and I know there’s some excitement for that internally, but just from a storytelling standpoint, I think we always conceived of seasons 1 and 2 as a whole."
He further said that 'Loki Season 1 and 2' are the two chapters of the same book. He said, "These are two chapters of the same book, and that season two is finishing that book, and there are other stories to be told there, but I think they would be new books if that’s not too coy."
Wright also said that there are many stories that need to be told in the world of 'Loki'. "It was similar to Season 1 in we wanted to tell this story and tell it well, but even in Season 1, we obviously were thinking about where we were going. I would say Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as, like, kind of two chapters of the same book. We felt pretty strongly, all of us involved, that Season 2 was about closing that book but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world. But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we set up in Season 1. We don't want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales," he said.
Loki Season 2 Ending Explained:
'Loki Season 2' has become one of the biggest hit series of MCU and it had one of the biggest plot twists for the audience. Loki is the 'God Of Mischief' and is known for his evil and notorious nature as he causes trouble. The series revamps Loki's image as the character gets trapped in the TVA and tries to find his glorious purpose.
Loki becomes the God of Stories as he gains the power of time travelling by controlling his time slip. He tries various alternatives to fix the time branch but fails and has to kill Sylve in order to save He Who Remains. In the end, Loki decides to break the loop, destroy the Temporal Loom and save the branches. He finds his 'glorious purpose' by becoming the 'God Of Stories' and giving free will to his friends including Sylvie and Mobius.
Loki is seen living in the Temporal Loom while wearing his new crown and transforming the timelines into a tree. This is a call back to the Asgardian tree Yggdrasil and the Nine Realms. The character will be explored in future MCU projects and will have a big role in 'Avengers Secret Wars'.
