Red Velvet’s Joy may soon be seen on screen alongside Kim Hye Yoon in a new drama, The Year We Turned 29. As per a report by Xportsnews, Joy is considering an offer to star in the upcoming drama. Joy’s agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed this, stating, “Joy has received an offer to appear in the drama ‘The Year We Turned 29’ and is currently reviewing it.”

Kim Hye Yoon, known for her roles in popular dramas like 'Sky Castle' and 'Extraordinary You', has also been in talks for a lead role in the same drama since April 2022. A representative from her agency, Artist Company, mentioned, “Kim Hye Yoon is still considering her offer. Nothing has been confirmed yet.”

'The Year We Turned 29' is based on a webtoon of the same name. The story centres around three individuals, all aged 29 and named Woo Ri, as they navigate the challenges of love, work and studies. As they approach their 30s, they learn to mature and rely on each other while experiencing life’s ups and downs together.

The drama’s main characters are Bong Woo Ri, Cha Woo Ri, and Kim Woo Ri. Bong Woo Ri, who enters art school later in life, works as a temporary designer at a small magazine company after graduating. Cha Woo Ri, described as direct and cold, is a flight attendant who has worked tirelessly all her life. Kim Woo Ri has been diligently preparing for a civil service exam for years but is currently on a break after being diagnosed with a panic disorder.

Joy has been offered the role of Cha Woo Ri, though details on the specific role for Kim Hye Yoon have not been revealed yet.
