About Maharaj
Maharaj, directed by Siddharth Malhotra, narrates the compelling story of renowned journalist and social worker Karsandas Mulji, who courageously spoke out against the societal malpractices of his time. The film delves into Mulji's journey as he discovers that Jadunath Maharaj, a prominent religious leader, was exploiting women under the guise of providing spiritual service.
Determined to bring justice and expose these wrongdoings, Mulji took a bold stand against Maharaj, highlighting his unwavering commitment to fighting for women's rights and social reform. The story showcases Mulji's dedication to challenging corrupt practices and advocating for a more just and equitable society.
In the movie, Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan plays the role of Karsandas Mulji. In a conversation with news agency ANI, Junaid reacted to positive reviews for Maharaj. He said, "I'm very grateful for the by and large positive response that Maharaj has received. So yeah, it's quite satisfying; I guess all's well that ends well. When Sid and Adi Sir called me for this story, I found it very appealing. I really liked Sid sir's part. The Yash Raj banner is significant, so taking on this project was an obvious choice."
