The Tamil thriller Maharaja has achieved impressive box office numbers both in China and India. In China, the film has garnered a total collection of Rs 79.40 crore, equivalent to USD 9.37 million. Meanwhile, in India, Maharaja has earned a net collection of Rs 72.43 crore, cementing its position as a successful venture in both markets.

About Maharaja

Maharaja is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Nithilan Saminathan. The film is jointly produced by The Route, Think Studios and Passion Studios. It boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas and Bharathiraja, among others. The story follows Maharaja, a barber in Chennai, who becomes embroiled in a complex situation at the police station.

Maharaja was officially announced in February 2023, with principal photography commencing the same month. The film's title was revealed in July, coinciding with the completion of filming.
