Maharani 4 Update: Huma Qureshi is all set to reprise her role as Rani Bharti in the fourth season of the critically acclaimed SonyLIV series, Maharani. The actress recently shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the show's set, marking the commencement of filming for the new season. In Maharani, Huma Qureshi essays the powerful character of Rani Bharti, an uneducated woman who unexpectedly becomes the Chief Minister of Bihar after her husband suffers an injury.

As the series returns for its fourth season, expectations are running high and Qureshi's portrayal of Rani Bharti is sure to be a major highlight. Huma wrote on X, “It is time for Season 4 !!! About Maharani: The acclaimed series Maharani, starring Huma Qureshi, has had a remarkable journey since its inception. The first season premiered on SonyLIV on May 28, 2021 and set the stage for the subsequent seasons. The second season, which launched its teaser on July 16, 2022 and trailer on August 1, 2022, drew inspiration from real-life events and characters, including the Shilpi-Gautam Murder case, Sadhu Yadav, Rajiv Goswami, Shibu Soren, Mohammad Shahabuddin, Prashant Kishor and the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC). 

Additionally, the season was influenced by the 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. The second season was finally released on SonyLIV on August 25, 2022. The third season's trailer was unveiled on February 19, 2024 and the season premiered on SonyLIV on March 7, 2024. This season, too, borrowed from real-life events, including the notable Jitan Manjhi episode, further blurring the lines between fact and fiction.
