Here are some Malayalam gangster dramas available on OTT platforms:

Angamaly Diaries (Amazon Prime Video)

The crime film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by Chemban Vinod Jose, featured 86 debutant actors, the main roles are played by Antony Varghese, Anna Rajan, Appani Sarath, Kichu Tellus, Vineeth Vishwam, Bitto Davis, Ullas Chemban, Tito Wilson, and Sinoj Varghese. This film marks Vijay Babu's first production under Friday Film House. It follows the lives of a group of young men from Angamaly who aspire to become powerful gangsters in their town. The film is known for its raw portrayal of local culture and a memorable 11-minute long single-shot climax.

Kammatti Paadam (Netflix)

Action drama film directed by Rajeev Ravi and written by P. Balachandran, stars Dulquer Salmaan, Vinayakan, Shaun Romy, Manikandan R. Achari, Vinay Forrt, Shine Tom Chacko, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Set in Kammattippaadam, a slum locality in Kochi, Kerala, the film explores the forced displacement of the Dalit community by real-estate mafias and the urbanisation of Kochi metro-city at their expense. Kammatti paadam chronicles the story of Krishnan, who returns to his hometown and revisits his violent past. The film highlights the transformation of the village into an urban area, focusing on the socio-political implications for its residents. The narrative captures the impact of modernization and displacement on the Dalit community, making it a poignant portrayal of change and loss.

King of Kotha (Disney+ Hotstar)

Action thriller directed by Abhilash Joshiy in his debut, jointly produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, and others. Released on 24 August 2023 during Onam weekend, King of Kotha received mixed reviews from critics despite a strong opening.

Big Brother (Amazon Prime Video)

The neo-noir action thriller directed by Amal Neerad in his directorial debut. The film stars Mammootty alongside an ensemble cast including Manoj K. Jayan, Bala, Sumeet Naval, Mamtha Mohandas, Nafisa Ali, Pasupathy, Lena, Maniyanpilla Raju, Shereveer Vakil, Vinayakan, Innocent, and Vijayaraghavan. It follows the story of four brothers who reunite to avenge the murder of their adoptive mother. The film is known for its stylish direction and strong performances.

Bachelor Party (Disney+ Hotstar)

Black comedy action gangster film directed by Amal Neerad and written by Unni R. and Santhosh Echikkanam is adapted from Johnnie To's 2006 film 'Exiled,' the movie features an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Kalabhavan Mani, Asif Ali, Rahman, Vinayakan, Nithya Menen, Remya Nambeesan, John Vijay, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Jinu Joseph. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Rahul Raj. The plot follows a group of friends who embark on a journey to celebrate a bachelor party but get entangled in a web of crime and betrayal.

Anwar (Disney+ Hotstar)

The action thriller directed by Amal Neerad, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the title role, with Prakash Raj, Mamtha Mohandas, and Lal in supporting roles. Set in Coimbatore, Prakash Raj's character speaks Tamil. The film, inspired by the 2008 American movie Traitor, centers on a young man who becomes involved with a terrorist organization and faces subsequent moral dilemmas.

City of God (Amazon Prime Video)

The crime thriller directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by Babu Janardhanan. The film delves into the lives of Tamil migrant workers and a group of land mafia gangsters in Cochin, Kerala. It features an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Rajeev Pillai, Rohini, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Rima Kallingal, and Swetha Menon. It intertwines multiple narratives that converge in the city, involving crime, love, and survival.
