Manjummel Boys hit the theatres on February 22, 2024. The movie received positive reviews from fans and critics alike and went on to become one of the highest-grossing movies in the Malayalam film industry. The movie is currently gearing up for its OTT release. However, ahead of its digital debut, Manjummel Boys has landed into a legal soup.
The producers of ‘Manjummel Boys’, Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir, and Babu Shahir, are facing legal trouble. They have been charged with criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and forgery, according to an order from the Ernakulam 1st Class Magistrate Court.
The lawsuit follows the freezing of bank accounts belonging to Parava Films and its partner, Shawn Antony, prompted by a complaint from Siraj, a resident of Aroor. Siraj claims he invested ₹7 crores in the film but was deceived, receiving neither the promised profits nor his initial investment back. He also alleges that the producers made ₹20 crores from selling the film's OTT rights but failed to give him any share of the earnings.
