The Malayalam film industry is celebrating a historic milestone as 'Manjummel Boys' becomes the first film in the language to cross the coveted Rs 200 crore mark at the global box office. The survival thriller, based on a real-life story, has been receiving immense praise and overwhelming responses from audiences since its release, leading to its exceptional box office performance.

Directed by Chidambaram, 'Manjummel Boys' achieved this remarkable feat within just 26 days of its release, breaking the record for the highest-grossing Malayalam film previously held by Jude Anthany Joseph's 2018 film. The news was confirmed by Chidambaram himself, who took to Instagram to share the achievement with fans, calling the film the "Highest worldwide grosser."

Starring Soubin Shahir, Lal Jr, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathy in pivotal roles, 'Manjummel Boys' has been a box office juggernaut since its release on February 22. It quickly surpassed the collections of previous blockbusters like 'Pulimurugan' and set new benchmarks for success in the industry.

One of the key factors contributing to the film's massive success is its performance in Tamil Nadu, where it grossed over Rs 50 crore, showcasing its widespread appeal beyond Kerala. In its home state, the film raked in over Rs 70 crore, solidifying its position as a record-breaking success story.

K Vijayakumar, president of the Film Exhibitors' United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), highlighted the impact of films like "Manjummel Boys," noting that their success can be attributed to their ability to resonate with audiences outside Kerala. He emphasized the importance of creating films with universal themes that can strike a chord with viewers across different regions.
