Manoj Bajpayee, the versatile actor known for his powerful performances, is all set to dazzle the audience in his upcoming film Bhaiyya Ji. In a recent interview with PTI, Bajpayee revealed that he drew inspiration from legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Vinod Khanna to portray the role of a massy hero in the movie.

Directed by Apoorva Singh Karki, who previously worked with Bajpayee in the acclaimed film Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai, Bhaiyya Ji is a revenge action film where Bajpayee plays the titular role of a man seeking vengeance for his brother's death.

Growing up, Bajpayee was deeply influenced by commercial cinema and admired the charisma of actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. He aimed to incorporate their mannerisms into his character to make him appealing and inspirational to the audience.

Bajpayee expressed his desire to be known as a "desi actor," emphasizing the importance of representing Indian culture and stories on screen. He believes that mainstream heroes should reflect the people of India, and films should celebrate the richness of Indian culture and traditions.

In Bhaiyya Ji, Bajpayee performed most of his action sequences, crediting action choreographer Fefsi Vijayan for pushing him to excel. Despite the challenges, Bajpayee found the experience rewarding, and he praised Vijayan for his dedication and expertise.

Bhaiyya Ji marks Bajpayee's 100th film, a milestone in his illustrious career that includes critically acclaimed movies like Satya, Shool, Raajneeti and Gangs of Wasseypur. The film also breaks stereotypes by not featuring an item song and presenting strong female characters who are as pivotal to the story as the male lead.

For Bajpayee, reaching the 100-film mark is a testament to his journey from a village to stardom. He considers Bhaiyya Ji a special film that celebrates his achievements and his dedication to his craft. Bhaiyya Ji is scheduled to be released on May 24, 2024.
