‘Mastaney’ Box Office Collection Day 7: Tarsem Jassar’s Sikh rebellion film ‘Mastaney’ has emerged as a blockbuster, recording a surge in collections in the initial days after having a strong opening. However, the film saw a dip on Day 7, but managed to rake decent numbers. The devotional period drama is directed by Sharan Art and hit theatres on August 25, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana’s drama-comedy ‘Dream Girl 2.’
The numbers could have been better with a solo release as most of the centres in Punjab state are capacity constrained because of ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Gadar 2.’ In more prominent cities like Ludhiana and Chandigarh, screens are still taken by Gippy Grewal’s ‘Carry On Jatta 3’ but in smaller centres, Hindi films have taken over the screens including Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2.’
The official trailer of 'Mastaney' is attached below:
Looking at the box office collection of the film, on Day 7, ‘Mastaney’ collected Rs 1.50 Crore, taking the total collection of the film to be around Rs 16.10 Crore. On the other hand, the overall overseas collection of the film crossed Rs 14.50 Crore.
Since ‘Mastanney’ is a Sikh history-based story, the film is getting a lot of non-regular cinema goer audience. A few years back ‘Chaar Sahibzade’ also saw the same surge and went on to become the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever from a very low start. Now, after witnessing a bumper start, ‘Mastaney’ carries the potential for something bigger.
