Alia Bhatt is all set to make her Met Gala debut in the Prabal Gurung couture. Ahead of the fashion's biggest night out, a picture of her with the designer is doing rounds on social media. The pic has the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor striking a pose with Gurung as the duo share a warm hug. Alia looked adorable in a black calf length dress which she teamed up with black loafers. Her dress featured a calf-length maxi dress styled with an overbusted blazer. On the other hand, Prabal Gurung kept it uber-cool as he donned a blue denim jacket and pants which he teamed up white t-shirt and a chunky pair of sneakers.

Sharing the picture, Prabal wrote, "Can't wait for tonight." It seemed like Alia Bhatt visited the designer's office for the fitings, as evident from the glass behind them which had Prabal Gurung's initials.

As the Raazi actor is all set to attend the Met Gala for the first time, fans are more than excited to witness what new and iconic she will bring to the world's biggest fashion gala. Soon after the actor's pic with Gurung went viral online, fans chimed into the comments section and dropped heartfelt reactions. A netizen commented, "All the best aloooo all the very best alia Bhatt," another one wrote, "My Queen," while others also dropped hearts.

Given that the subject of the Met Gala this year is "a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld" and Prabal's relationship to him, the choice to wear Gurung for her Met Gala debut this year seems appropriate. 

In a conversation with Vogue, Gurung remembered, "It was the 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner when the late Karl Lagerfeld presented me with my award. Winning this award was so surreal, and even more so to receive an award from a designer whom I've been in awe of ever since I was a kid. I'll never forget his words — both extremely encouraging and hilarious. I shall forever cherish this moment. Karl, with your words, you made this guy, a kid from Nepal, dream even bigger."

Earlier, on Saturday, Bhatt too to her Instagram handle and dropped a picture of herself posing with her adorable cat Edward, as she 'preps for Met Gala 2023'. In the pictures, she could be seen donning a stunning black-coloured gown which she donned at the Filmfare Awards. 

She could be seen holding Edward with both her hands in the first pic, while the second one had Alia holding her pet in her arms as she plants a kiss on its cheek. We wonder if Alia's pet Edward will also make its Met Gala debut?
