Diljit Dosanjh broke the internet after his latest appearance at the Met Gala. The Punjabi singer owned the red carpet in a regal Prabal Gurung sherwani, styled as a tribute to his Punjabi heritage. Dosanjh’s outfit was inspired by the legendary Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. His out of the box outfit has made him secure no. 1 spot in Vogue readers’ poll that featured 307 standout looks. The singer has beaten the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Rihanna, Priyanka Chopra, Zendaya and others.

What stood out the most in his entire ensemble was the custom-made cape that featured an intricately hand-embroidered map of Punjab, woven with Gurumukhi script in rich gold thread. It was crafted by 50 artisans who worked for over four days. The cape was a tribute to heritage and identity.

Other celebrities who were the top fashion picks on Vogue’s list were S Coups in Boss, Zendaya in Louis Vuitton, Teyana Taylor in Ruth E. Carter, Rihanna in Marc Jacobs, Nicki Minaj in Thom Browne, Shakira in Prabal Gurung, Lewis Hamilton in Grace Wales Bonner, Lisa and Sabrina Carpenter, both in Louis Vuitton.

On the professional front, Diljit Dosanjh has been on a roll, with his Dil-Luminati tour receiving widespread acclaim. He is now gearing up for his upcoming film, Punjab 95, which is based on the life of Sikh activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who mysteriously disappeared in 1995. This project is likely to be a challenging yet rewarding experience for Diljit, given the sensitive nature of the subject matter. 

In addition to Punjab 95, Diljit also has Border 2 lined up, where he will be sharing the screen with Ahan Shetty, Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.
