Mithun Chakraborty Health Emergency: Renowned actor and BJP politician Mithun Chakraborty has reportedly been admitted to Apollo Hospital's emergency unit in Kolkata on Saturday, February 10, after complaining of chest pain. The actor, known for his iconic roles in Bollywood classics such as 'Disco Dancer' and 'Mard', was reportedly feeling unwell before being rushed to the hospital.
Chakraborty, who has been an influential figure in the Indian film industry since 1976, has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious National Award. His contributions to cinema have left a mark, with memorable performances in films like 'Jung', 'Prem Pratigyaa', and 'Pyar Jhukta Nahin'.
In addition to his cinematic journey, Chakraborty recently received the Padma Bhushan Award in 2024, a testament to his enduring legacy in Indian entertainment. Reacting to the honour, he expressed profound gratitude, dedicating the award to his fans, well-wishers, and supporters who have showered him with love and respect over the years.
However, amidst his triumphs, Chakraborty has also faced personal hardships. In July 2023, he mourned the loss of his mother, Santirani Chakraborty, who passed away in Mumbai after battling geriatric issues. Before that, in April 2020, Chakraborty's father, Basantokumar Chakraborty, succumbed to kidney failure at the age of 95.
