Sunita Ahuja On Why David Dhawan And Govinda Stopped Working Together
On a podcast episode of Timeout With Ankit in 2024, Sunita Ahuja revealed that David Dhawan suggested Govinda accept secondary roles.
She explained, “Maybe Govinda didn't like the idea of being a second lead, because in the 90s he only delivered solo hits with David.”
She also acknowledged that both men had their reasons. In her view, David was not wrong to suggest that Govinda adapt to changing audience preferences, while Govinda was entitled to resist a transition he was not comfortable making.
