Malayalam actor Mohanlal couldn't contain his excitement after receiving a special gift from football legend Lionel Messi, a signed jersey. He shared his experience of unwrapping the gift and how his heart skipped a beat, making it a dream moment for many Messi fans. He shared photos on social media, happily posing with the signed jersey.
On Sunday, Mohanlal took to his Instagram handle and surprised everyone with a video featuring unforgettable moments of Lionel Messi and a gift from him to the actor. In the clip, Messi can be seen personally signing a jersey for Mohanlal, making it more special, he wrote ‘Lalettan’, a name given by fans to the superstar. The next shows photos of himself holding the signed jersey, clearly overjoyed with this. Expressing his feelings, he wrote, "Some moments in life feel too profound for words. They stay with you forever. Today, I experienced one of those moments. As I gently unwrapped the gift, my heart skipped a beat—a jersey signed by the legend himself, Lionel Messi. And there it was… my name, written in his own hand."
Lauding Messi for his persona, L2: Empuraan actor stated, “For someone who has long admired Messi, not just for his brilliance on the field but for his humility and grace, this was truly special." He thanked his friends who turned his dream into reality. Mohanlal added, "This incredible moment wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness of two dear friends: Dr. Rajeev Mangottil and Rajesh Philip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And above all, thank you, God, for this unforgettable gift"

The actor's fans didn't wait much to show their happiness. One user wrote, "Lalettan With Our Every Football fans Dream." Another user commented, "GOAT x GOAT."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mohanlal is garnering praise for his performance in L2: Empuraan. Released in theatres on March 27, the film also starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also helmed the sequel of Lucifer.
He will be seen in Thudarum, also starring Arjun Ashokan, Arjun Ashokan, Bharathiraja, Bharathiraja, and Shobana, among many others. He also has the Telugu fantasy film Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh
Not only this, Mohanlal also confirmed the third instalment of his hit thriller series Drishyam, which is currently in the works.
