Mollywood Box Office Report 2024: It is quite uncommon for the Mollywood industry to achieve such impressive numbers within just a few months. However, considering the quality of the content produced by the industry and the exceptional way actors are portrayed in these films, audiences have come to recognize the significance of Malayalam cinema. This growing appreciation has led to a significant shift, with many Hindi-speaking viewers increasingly turning their attention to Malayalam movies. Now, in a span of over five months, Mollywood is all set to hit Rs 1000 crore worldwide at the box office by the end of this month.
The top three films at the worldwide box office have made a significant impact on the overall earnings of Malayalam cinema, contributing approximately 57 per cent of the total box office collections. These three films, ‘Manjummel Boys’, ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’, and ‘Aavesham’, have collectively garnered an impressive Rs 556.08 crore in earnings on a global scale.

Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Aavesham’, ‘Manjummel Boys’, and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ are the top earners, contributing to the 1000 crore worldwide box office for Malayalam films.
The recently released ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’ is also on track to join this club soon. 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' hit the theatres on May 16, 2024 and received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. This Malayalam blockbuster movie is a family-comedy drama directed by Vipin Das, known for 'Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey'. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph, with a script by Deepu Pradeep.
