The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is a significant event for India, as numerous celebrities from the Indian entertainment industry are making their debut at this prestigious gala. Joining the list of Indian celebrities, actor Mouni Roy is now set to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Speaking about her Cannes debut, Mouni said, "I am exhilarated to announce my debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Representing Lenskart at Cannes and being a part of this iconic celebration of creativity is my greatest honour. I am grateful for this incredible opportunity and cannot wait to showcase my unique style and passion for cinema on this global platform."

Before Mouni Roy, several other Indian celebrities, including Sara Ali Khan, Manushi Chillar, Mrunal Thakur, Urvashi Rautela, and Sapna Choudhary, appeared on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year.

Sara Ali Khan and Mrunal Thakur unquestionably deserve recognition for adding a touch of Indian culture and charm to the French town.

During her speech at the gala, Sara passionately emphasised on the significance of Indian culture, cinema, and art, and expressed her pride in being present at the event to celebrate women in both on-screen and off-screen roles. Expressing her desire for such initiatives to continue worldwide, the Kedarnath star said, "I am so proud to be here celebrating women both in front of and behind the camera. I hope that we continue to do things like this worldwide. I hope that my country does more and more, has a louder and more felt presence globally and internationally.”

However, another actor who grabbed a significant amount of attention for her attire at Cannes Film Festival 2023 was Urvashi Rautela. Her first look at Cannes 2023 featured a stunning pink gown complemented by a remarkable necklace from Cartier, designed in the shape of interwoven crocodiles. However, Urvashi later addressed the 'bizarre comments' she received from trolls for wearing the necklace.

She told Brut India, "People, who don't have the right information, those are the people who are writing bizarre comments about it (her necklace). But people, who know about the history of that jewellery, it is such an iconic piece, they will absolutely fall in love with the crocodile neckpiece. Actually, it is a very iconic piece... You actually have to read about it, it is very historic. In fact, I wasn't aware of this, but I got to know that it was worn by Monica Bellucci back in 2006 at Cannes. I had absolutely no idea about it."
