A netizen wrote, “#Kannappa picks up from pre-interval & becomes an excellent watch for 2nd half. Excellent & riveting cameo by Prabhas. Film is filled with innocent Bhakti & eternal Sanatana Dharma values. Very well done . Om Namaha Shivaya Kudos to @iVishnuManchu massive respect!”

A user said, “Show completed :- #Kannappa My rating 3.25/5 Below average 1st half Super blockbuster 2nd half @iVishnuManchu acting (especially 2nd half ) prabhas & mohanbabu did an amazing performance 2nd half BGM is heart of the movie Note:- Must watch film.”

Another reviewer said, “Plot: Kannappa tells the story of a tribal warrior who becomes a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Pros: Prabhas cameo is the highlight — his marriage convo with Vishnu had the theatre laughing. VFX & visuals are top-notch. Costumes & locations look rich. Mohanlal’s cameo = pure class. Cons: Screenplay is dull & drags big time. Child artists (Manchu family?) were a pain to watch. Miscasting throughout — actors don’t suit the roles. Dialogues are outdated & overly long — even my grandma would've walked out. Verdict: Kannappa had a good concept, but the film is let down by weak writing and casting. It looks grand and has some good moments (thanks to Prabhas and the VFX), but overall, it’s too long and dull.”
