Maareesan FIRST Review: With Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in the key roles, Maareesan is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. The strange journey that a robber and an Alzheimer's patient take together is the focus of the Tamil comedic thriller. In contrast to the elder man, who runs away from home in pursuit of independence and memories, the younger man is motivated by the possibility of financial gain. A road trip with underlying tensions, emotional disclosures, and dramatic shifts is the setting for the plot, which takes place across a variety of settings.

Maareesan has received early social media interest ahead of its theatrical release after a few industry people were given preview viewing. Early reviews indicate that the movie is a gripping drama with a hint of suspense. On Twitter, an early watcher hailed the chemistry between Fahadh and Vadivelu, calling it 'a fine drama with a thrilling touch.'

A user named Hifi Talkies on X wrote, "A Fine drama with a thrilling touch!  #FahadhFaasil & #Vadivelu combo is excellent, their unique traits shine. Liked the suspenseful first half, with emotional reveals later in Second half @thisisysr's score is a major highlight, perfectly blending genres. A neat, engaging watch (sic)."

Kamal Haasan Reviews Maareesan 

Kamal Haasan recently shared his comments on social media following his viewing of the film. According to the renowned actor's tweet on X (previously Twitter), Maareesan 'dances effortlessly between wit and depth,' leaving him 'laughing, thinking, and admiring its craft.'

Kamal Haasan wrote, "Watched Maareesan - a film that dances effortlessly between wit and depth, leaving me laughing, thinking, and admiring its craft. Had a wonderful conversation with the team to congratulate them on this delightful creation."

The Thug Life actor added, "Beneath its humour lies a socially conscious lens on human emotion and a keen gaze at the darker shadows of our society. The kind of inventive, spirited cinema I naturally gravitate towards - both as viewer and creator. #Maareesan (sic)."

Maareesan was produced by R. B. Choudary under the Super Good Films label and directed by Sudheesh Sankar.  V. Krishna Moorthy, who is also the movie's creative director, is credited with authoring the script.  Yuvan Shankar Raja created the music, while Kalaiselvan Sivaji handled the photography and Sreejith Sarang handled the editing.
