Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 X Reviews: Netflix has finally released Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2, and fans across the world have been quick to share their reactions on social media. The second volume, which includes Episodes 5 to 7, began streaming on December 26, 2025, marking the final stretch before the much-awaited series finale. While viewers expected major twists and emotional highs, the response online has been largely mixed, with many praising individual moments but criticising the overall execution.

With only three episodes running for just over three hours, Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 was expected to raise the stakes ahead of the grand finale. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) soon after the release, sharing their thoughts on pacing, writing, and character arcs. While emotional scenes involving Steve, Max, Dustin and Will struck a chord, several viewers felt the storytelling lacked depth. One viewer wrote, “It didn’t live up to expectations the way it should have. There are some genuinely strong emotional moments in this volume, and the Upside Down wormhole concept, which was intriguing, but the overall writing felt inconsistent.” Another fan summed up the experience by saying, “Volume 2 was literally everything, and nothing happened at the same time.”

Meanwhile, Episode 5, in particular, has received the most backlash from fans. Despite Episode 4 still holding the title of the highest-rated episode of the series on IMDb, viewers felt the momentum dropped significantly afterwards. A disappointed fan commented, “The pacing was terrible, the acting was S***, the effects lowered in quality, and so many characters were underutilised.” However, not all reactions were negative. Some viewers appreciated the deeper exploration of the Upside Down, which finally sheds light on its origins and purpose. A neutral review read, “All the character moments were so tough, can’t wait for the finale.”

Despite criticism around pacing and writing, emotional scenes continued to resonate with fans. Several viewers admitted they were moved by the performances, even if they felt the episodes dragged. One fan shared, “It was a very slow pace and not much actually happened. I enjoyed it tho.” The return of key characters and sudden narrative shifts also managed to keep audiences engaged, especially as the story heads towards the ultimate showdown in Hawkins. The episodes dive deeper into the town’s history, hinting that more dangers could still be lurking.
