'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' actors Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat recently grabbed the attention after the rumours of their engagement surfaced on the internet. The two have finally broken silence on these rumours and called them baseless. For the unversed, Munmun plays the role of Babita in the show, whereas, Raj was seen as Jethalal's son Tappu but left the show in 2022. According to reports, the two got engaged in Vadodara but they have completely dismissed this news.

Reacting to the engagement rumours, Munmun told ETimes, "This news is RIDICULOUS, Fake and LUDICROUS. Zero ounce of truth in it… And frankly, I don’t want to give my energy to this fake thing that keeps coming up again and again.”

She also denied the engagement rumours on Instagram and posted on her story, "Fake news toh chalti rahegi, but nothing beats evening tea with my girl gang."

Raj Anadkat wrote on his Instagram story, "Hello everyone, Just to clear things up, the news you've been seeing on social media is false & baseless. Team Raj Anadkat."

Earlier, according to a report by News 18 Showsha, a source revealed, “The engagement took place just a few days back. The two apparently exchanged rings in Vadodara (Gujarat). Munmun and Raj’s families have accepted their relationship and they were also present at the ceremony.”

This is not the first time Munmun and Raj got caught up in the false rumours. Earlier, the actress penned a note on social media, addressing the rumours about her relationship. She wrote, "To the media and their zero credibility ‘journos’, who has given you the right to post ‘imaginary’ ‘made up’ articles in people’s name about their private life without their consent? Are you liable to the damage that you cause to their lives with your reckless behaviour? You don’t stop at shoving your cameras on the face of a grieving woman who just lost her love or lost her son, in a funeral, just for your TRPs. You can stoop to any level to create sensational articles/headlines at the cost of someone’s dignity, but are you going to take responsibility for wrecking havoc in their lives?? If no then, you should be ashamed of yourself!!”

In 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma', Munmun plays the role of Babita, who is Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer's wife and Jethala's secret crush.
