SSMB29: SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie, tentatively titled SSMB29, headlined by Mahesh Babu, has created immense anticipation for several reasons. From Priyanka Chopra's involvement in the movie to Prithviraj Sukumaran roped for a pivatol role, the news has sparked significant excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts. While reports are circulating online about the casting of the movie, the latest buzz suggests that Nana Patekar was also approached by the makers but he declined that offer including remuneration of Rs 20 crore for the role. Lately, the speculations surrounding the SSMB29 suggested that Nana Patekar has come on board for SS Rajamouli directorial to play the father role to Mahesh Babu in the movie. The RRR director had reportedly approached him in 2024 but he turned down the offer as the role didn’t thrill him enough.
As a source quoted by News 18, claimed, "Rajamouli was very keen on casting Nana Patekar for a pivotal part in his film with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. The filmmaker had travelled from Hyderabad to Patekar’s farmhouse in Pune to narrate him the script. The duo, in fact, had an interesting exchange of inputs but then Patekar said that this isn’t something he wants to do."
He was offered Rs 20 crore for just a 15-day shoot schedule but reportedly he focused more on the role than the money.
"The money offered was close to an unprecedented Rs 20 crore. And he had to only shoot for about 15 days. But he felt that the role wasn’t something that he wanted to sink his teeth into," the source added.
He also shared his desire to work with Rajamouli in his future projects.
