Aamir Khan is one of the biggest superstars in India. With his incredible acting, he has delivered several cult films and has consistently contributed to the entertainment world, playing a significant role in reshaping it. Honouring his excellence, Aamir Khan was awarded the first-ever RK Laxman Award for Excellence, a special tribute to the legendary artist RK Laxman, presented by his family.
The award ceremony was a grand night where music, art, and legacy came together. Aamir Khan received the honour from Boman Irani. While sharing glimpses from the grand award night, the makers wrote, "Honoring a legend in the most unforgettable way. Aamir Khan received the first R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence from Boman Irani, as thousands witnessed this special moment. A night where music, art and legacy came together."
The award was accompanied by a live concert by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. The ceremony was held at the MCA Cricket Stadium, where music and memories came together to honour the cartoonist who created one of India’s most loved characters, The Common Man.

Over his lifetime, R.K. Laxman received several honours, including the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan and an honorary doctorate from the University of Mysore.
Aamir Khan has delivered blockbuster films like 3 Idiots, PK, Taare Zameen Par, Dangal, Sitaare Zameen Par, and many more. With such films, he has always struck a chord with the audience and brought stories that truly understand common man's ideology, like RK Laxman's common man which is an avid observer of society and is made with the intention of entertaining, at the same time motivating Indian's towards a better future and nation building.
