Aamir Khan recently opened up about the infamous joke about naming his dog 'Shah Rukh.' The comment sparked a great deal of debate and speculation about a supposed rivalry between Sitaare Zameen Par actor and Shah Rukh Khan. Now, looking back, Aamir Khan refers to that time as a 'childish' phase and explains how their difficult relationship has evolved into a genuine friendship.

Aamir Khan said while speaking to Lallantop, "Actually ek period tha jab Shah Rukh aur main ek dusre ke liye kaafi kuch bol rahe the. Shayad woh naakhush the mujhse." When asked why Shah Rukh Khan was unhappy with Aamir, he stated, "Don’t know! May be because I don’t talk about others in my interviews."

Aamir Khan actor added that he and Shah Rukh now have a strong relationship and referred to him as a 'good friend.' He shared, "Anyway, let’s leave all that behind. Shah Rukh is a good friend of mine. When our careers started, there was natural competition between us. But that faded away 10–15 years ago, at least from my side, and I think from his side as well. It was childish behaviour."

Aamir Khan further recalled that Shah Rukh Khan used to tease him at award events. "Shah Rukh aksar mujhpe mazak karta rehta hain naa har saal jab award function hota hai, main toh jaata nahi hoon. Toh har saal mazak woh mujhpe karte rehte hain," he expressed.

What Was Aamir Khan's Dog Controversy With SRK?

Aamir Khan used to post blogs in the 2010s and in one of them, he wrote - "Shah Rukh mere talwe chaat raha hai, Main usse biscuit khila raha hun. Aur kya chahiye mujhe? (Shah Rukh Khan is licking my feet, I'm feeding him biscuits so what else do I need)."

The superstar then revealed that he has a dog named after Shah Rukh Khan when he appeared on Aap Ki Adalat (India TV). The actor added that he purchased the puppy from a Parsi owner who had given it the Bollywood star's name. Even though he told the story in jest, SRK fans didn't like it, and the actor was heavily criticised for it.

Aamir Khan further disclosed that he met Shah Rukh Khan and apologised to his children, Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan, after realising his mistake.
