Aditya Roy Kapur made a strong impression with his web series debut in The Night Manager. The web series was a gripping Indian adaptation of the hit British spy thriller starring Tom Hiddleston. Released on Hotstar, the Indian version also starred Anil Kapoor as arms dealer Shailendra Rungta and Sobhita Dhulipala in a key role, alongside Tillotama Shome as a senior R&AW officer. The series received praise from both audiences and critics and was even nominated at the International Emmys. Now, there’s good news for fans. Momentum for The Night Manager Season 2 is quietly building behind the scenes.

According to a report in Mid-day, conversations have already begun about continuing the story, with directors Sandeep Modi and Priyanka Ghose leading the charge alongside the creative team. “The writing process is expected to kick off by the year-end. The script of the British original has been shared with the Indian team, which is now working on mapping out the protagonist’s arc and adapting the plot points,” the report revealed.

Meanwhile,the report further added that based on internal discussions at the streaming platform, the second season will be set eight years after the events of the first. This time, Shaan Sengupta and the R&AW agent, played by Tillotama Shome, will take on a brand-new covert mission that promises to be just as intense as the original story.

The report also added that when asked about the possibility of a second season, Aditya Roy Kapur had a playful response. He said, “We’ll have to ask the powers that be! Tom Hiddleston is working on his next season, so the energy is there. There is an intention to do another season, but everyone wants the writing to be just right before they move ahead.”

On the other hand, Aditya Roy Kapur played Shaan Sengupta, a former Navy officer turned hotel manager who gets drawn into a dangerous world of espionage and international arms dealing. The show kept viewers hooked with its layered characters, high production value, and gripping storyline. With the success of season one, many fans have been eagerly waiting to hear whether a second season is in the works.
