Rakt Bramhand The Bloody Kingdom is an action fantasy web series that will be released on Netflix. Created by Raj and DK, there were reports that the web series is facing a budget crisis and may be put on hold or even cancelled. Although the creator duo has issued a statement in a recent interview denying the claims and opened up about the project’s schedule. Last year in July, Netflix dropped the announcement of the web series by sharing a fierce poster on Instagram which captured a crown dripping with blood all over.
According to a report in Peeping Moon, the much-anticipated Netflix web series Rakt Bramhand experienced financial issues during the production, leading to a financial fraud case on the set. The show’s executive producer was accused of gross mismanagement of funds and significant accounting discrepancies. The report further added that about two weeks ago, Netflix had a private meeting with creators Raj and DK and the new executive producer to review the budget and the actual costs to proceed. However, the figures did not match.

Due to significant financial difficulties, including the scrapping of 26 days of filmed footage and a substantial script rewrite, Netflix is reluctant to invest further in the high-risk project Rakht Bramhand, the same report stated. The initial estimated cost of the project was reportedly around Rs 200 crore. As a result, actors Aditya, Samantha, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal have moved on to other commitments, with the future of the series remaining uncertain. As per the report, Netflix has already incurred significant losses from previous shoots, much of which requires reshooting.

Meanwhile, Raj and DK have denied the claims and opened up about the web series’ schedule. The creator duo, according to a report in India Today, stated, "This is an ambitious epic project unfolding over multiple schedules. We finished most of our indoor talkie schedule, and we are now prepping for the next big schedule that is mostly outdoors and action. The plan is to wait for the rains to clear for a suitable filming window. We also need lush greens for this period setup. So yeah, we are prepping for the next big action schedule.”
