Ajay Devgn In RRR: In an era where OTT platforms are changing the entertainment industry, a Bollywood superstar has surpassed Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan to become highest-paid for a cameo appearance. Yes, you read that right! SS Rajamouli announced RRR in 2017 following the success of Baahubali 2. Ram Charan and Jr NTR led Telugu movie also starred Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran.

Ajay Devgn joined the RRR cast for a strong cameo in March 2022. The pan-India movie is about a brave revolutionary and a British military officer, who were once close, decide to team up and forge an inspirational route of freedom from the unjust rulers.

Ajay Devgn charged Rs 35 crore for his cameo, despite having barely eight minutes of screen time, as per Times Of India. He made history by charging this high amount a brief appearance in SS Rajamouli's historical drama, making it the most expensive cameo in Indian cinema. This worked out to Rs 4.35 crore per minute, the highest per-minute rate ever recorded for an Indian actor.

Ajay Devgn's fee exceeded that of all other Indian stars at Rs 4.35 crore per minute. Salman Khan (Tiger 3), Prabhas (Kalki 2898 AD), Rajinikanth (Jailer) and Allu Arjun (Pushpa 2), for example, would have to charge more than Rs 250 crore to match that figure, but none of them have apparently done so.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn's box office success has persisted since the pandemic, thanks to films like Singham Again and Drishyam 2. His salary fluctuates according on the project. For lesser films like Raid 2 and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, he reportedly asked Rs 20 crore, but for larger movies like Singham Again, he reportedly demanded Rs 40 crore or more.
