Ajey Box Office Collection Day 2: Ravindra Gautam’s Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi hit cinemas on 19th September 2025, but the film has not yet found its rhythm at the box office. Starring Anant Joshi in the lead role, the film tells the story of Yogi Adityanath’s journey from a humble background to becoming a spiritual leader and eventually the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Despite its powerful subject and strong performances, the film has had a slow start.

According to early trade reports from Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 0.25 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 0.35 crore on its second day (Saturday). With this, the total two-day collection stands at Rs 0.60 crore net in India. While Saturday showed a slight increase from Friday, the numbers remain far from impressive for a film released on a wide scale. One of the reasons behind the film’s slow performance could be its box office clash with Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. The courtroom drama has pulled larger crowds, leaving Ajey struggling to find its audience. Moreover, the film’s genre, a political biopic with spiritual themes might have limited its appeal among younger viewers, who often prefer lighter or more commercial cinema.

About Ajey Movie

Ajey is based on Shantanu Gupta’s bestselling biography The Monk Who Became Chief Minister. The story portrays the transformation of Yogi Adityanath, from a young man inspired by spirituality to becoming a monk and later one of India’s most prominent political figures. The film highlights his struggles, sacrifices, and rise to leadership. The movie stars Anant Joshi in the titular role, alongside Paresh Rawal, Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’, Ajay Mengi, Rajesh Khattar, Pawan Malhotra, and Garima Vikrant Singh in key roles. Produced by Ritu Mengi, the film’s screenplay is written by Dilip Bachchan Jha and Priyank Dubey, with music composed by Meet Bros and cinematography handled by Vishnu Rao.

Though the film’s subject is rooted in Indian politics and spirituality, its makers had hoped to attract a wide range of audiences with strong storytelling and dramatic visuals. However, early box office numbers suggest that it may need strong word-of-mouth to survive in theatres.
