Ajith Kumar is widely admired both as a Tamil movie superstar and passionate motorsports enthusiast. The 54-year-old was recently involved in a crash during the GT4 European Series held at Italy’s Misano World Circuit. The incident happened during the second round of the championship, but Ajith walked away from the scene without any injuries. The crash occurred when his car collided with a stationary vehicle on the track. Although the impact was quite serious and forced him to retire from the race, Ajith remained calm and composed.

Meanwhile, rather than simply exiting the scene, Tamil actor Ajith Kumar immediately steppedin to help track marshals clear the damaged parts from the tarmac. A video of this moment has since gone viral on social media, earning the actor widespread praise for his humility and sportsmanship. In the clip, a race commentator said, “Ajith Kumar out of the car, out of the race. It’s the first significant bit of damage we’ve seen from him this year. He’s a fine champ – he goes and helps the marshals clear up all the body. Not many drivers would do that.” This down-to-earth gesture struck a chord with both fans and fellow racers alike.

Ajith Kumar’s Motosports Journey

Ajith’s journey in motorsports began back in 2003. After a long break to focus on his acting career, he made a strong return to competitive racing and has taken part in several major events over the years. He has previously raced in countries such as Germany and Malaysia and even participated in the Formula 2 championship in 2010. His recent comeback to racing has been seen as bold and truly inspiring by motorsport fans and the general public.

On the other hand, the crash comes shortly after the actor was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. The award recognised the Thunivu actor’s contributions to both Indian cinema and motorsports, highlighting his rare ability to balance two very different but equally demanding careers.

Ajith Kumar’s Work Front

On the work front, Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The action-packed entertainer has become Tamil cinema’s biggest hit of 2025 so far. While he is currently taking a break from shooting, reports suggest that his next movie will also be with Ravichandran. In the meantime, the Vedalam actor is already preparing for the third round of the GT4 European Series, which is set to take place at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
