Akhanda 2: Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Telugu action drama is now at its final stage of shooting. The film was earlier expected to release alongside Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG. But due to production delays, the movie was then postponed. In a recent press meet, the Telugu movie will hit the screens in December. Yes, you read that right! You can watch the magnum opus on the big screens in just two months.

Akhanda 2’s teaser was screened during They Call Him OG show and it’s then that the release date was announced. The movie is scheduled to be released on December 5, 2025. Earlier, Nandamuri Balakrishna stated that Akhanda 2 is being postponed because of music composer Thaman’s commitments, as he felt that he needed to give justice to the music of the movie.

In Akhanda 2, Nandamuri Balakrishna is set to play the role of fierce Aghora avatar. The makers are promising double action this time. It is set against the Himalayan backdrop. Aadhi Pinisetty is set to step into the villain’s shoes. Samyuktha, Pragya Jaiswal and Harshaali Malhotra are set to play pivotal roles in the movie. It has been produced by 14 Reels Plus and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri.

Akhanda, the original movie, was released in theatres in 2021. The movie revolved around the nefarious person named Varadarajulu, who plans to attack Murali Krishna, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Akhanda leaves no stone unturned to defeat the evil. The film features Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role as Akhanda and Murali Krishna, Pragya Jaiswal as Saranya Bachupally, Jagapathi Babu as Aghora Baba, Srikanth as Antahpuram Varadarajulu, Nithin Mehta as Gajendra Sahu and Viji Chandrasekhar as Dharani in significant roles. It was directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy. The Telugu action movie has been made on a budget of Rs 60 to 70 crore. The film then had a box office collection of over Rs 250 crore. Akhanda is has been streaming on JioHotstar.
