Animal Release Date: Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal is returning to theaters two years after its original premiere. This time, though, the release is restricted to Japan, a nation where Indian cinema has seen recently witnessed boom. The film, which was well-known for its compelling narrative, stirring performances, and top-charting soundtrack, generated a lot of discussion after it was released and went on to have enormous box office success in India.

Animal movie's release in Japan is another significant milestone that highlights both Ranbir Kapoor's growing international recognition and the growing appeal of Indian cinema overseas. It became one of the most discussed Hindi movies. The makers revealed on social media on Wednesday that Animal will be widely available in Japan in February 2026. "The most talked-about, debated, and unforgettable cinematic experience is coming to Japan. Animal releases in Japanese theatres on February 13, 2026. #Animal #AnimalinJapan #AnimalTheFilm."

Animal, which was released in December 2023, centred around Vijay (Ranbir Kapoor) and his problematic relationship with his father (Anil Kapoor). The movie also starred Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Shakti Kapoor, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Triptii Dimri played significant parts.

Animal Box Office Collection 

Animal was a huge movie office hit, grossing Rs 915 crore globally and Rs 553 crore net in India. At the end of its initial run, it was the ninth highest-grossing Indian movie ever. The movie also generated controversy online, with some viewers accusing it of being 'misogynistic.'

With the announcement of Animal's release in Japan, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar is expected to overtake the film as the ninth highest-grossing Indian film ever. Later today (December 24), the Aditya Dhar movie is predicted to surpass Animal's global receipts and hit the Rs 1000-crore milestone by Saturday. It is anticipated that Dhurandhar will have made between Rs 1000 and Rs 1100 crore globally at the conclusion of its existence.

Due to Japanese audiences' growing acceptance of Indian films in all genres, there are high expectations for Animal's international response.
