Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah's war of words from 2020 have resurfaced online. This came after Kher recently spoke on the alleged donations theft from the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The old clip is now going viral online and the netizens are trolling Kher over the same.

In an interview, Shah was asked about members of the film industry who had either criticised or openly supported the government. He further added that Kher should not be taken seriously.
Further referring to him as 'a clown', Shah claimed that Kher's ational School of Drama (NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) peers could confirm his 'sycophantic nature'.
"Someone like Anupam Kher is very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He is a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NSD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood. He can’t help it," said Naseeruddin Shah.
How did Anupam Kher respond?
Taking to X, Kher claimed Shah had spent his life 'in frustration' despite achieving immense success. He said, "Though I have never said anything bad about you but now I will. You have spent your entire life in frustration, despite achieving so much."

"If you can criticise Dilip Kumar sahab, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli, then I’m sure I’m in great company," he further added.
Anupam Kher continued, "None of them has ever taken your statements seriously, as we all know that due to the substances you have been taking all these years, you don’t realise the difference between what is right and what is wrong."
