The calls for Shilpa Shinde's arrest were made by a men's rights organisation, just days after she acknowledged that the sexual harassment accusations she had made against the producer of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! were false. The actress stated that she brought the action in the midst of a bigger disagreement about industry support and compensation.

The Delhi-based non-profit NCMIndia Council for Men's Affairs, which claimed to promote gender equality and men's rights, has called on Mumbai police to act on its X (earlier Twitter) handle. "Dear @MumbaiPolice please arrest Shilpa Shinde for lodging a false sexual harassment case against her producer."

 

 

Shilpa Shinde's actions were slammed by a number of other social media users. Many urged the producer to sue her for defamation and demand compensation.

What Did Shilpa Shinde Say?

Actor Shilpa Shinde recently brought up her long-running conflict with Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain's producers. The actress acknowledged that the accusations of sexual harassment she had made against producer Sanjay Kohli were untrue, over ten years after leaving the program in 2016.

Speaking candidly about the situation in a recent podcast, Shilpa Shinde stated that she filed the complaint because she thought she had no other choice at the time. The issue was later resolved, and her outstanding payments were then cleared.

Shilpa Shinde said, "Nobody knows this, and I’m not afraid of telling the truth. Even today, I will say this because it is a big thing. I filed a sexual harassment case against my producer because I had no other option. Eventually, I got out of that situation because the matter was settled." The actor continued by saying that there was a bigger disagreement about remuneration and industry backing at the time the case was filed.

Despite everything that transpired, Shilpa Shinde stated that she is working with the makers of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, yet again and shared a cordial relationship with them.
